City of Smiles Unravel Wedding Culture at Kasalan sa Bacolod


The City of Smiles, Bacolod City, will unravel its wedding culture and showcase their premier local wedding suppliers at the Kasalan sa Bacolod – Katahom guid sang Yuhom to be held on September 25 – 27, 2009 at the Robinsons Place Bacolod in Bacolod City.

Kasalan sa Bacolod wedding fair and exhibit is the tenth leg of Kasalang Filipino 2009, co-presented by Kasal.com, ABS-CBN Regional Network Group, Key Cities Events Marketing, and Robinsons Place Bacolod.

Kasalang Filipino 2009 is a nationwide wedding fair road show which ties twelve (12) Philippine cities with one goal of promoting the local wedding industry. The following are the 12 cities of the 2009 road show – San Pablo, Tagaytay, Tarlac, Dagupan, Legazpi, Dumaguete, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Bacolod, Manila, and Cebu. This year’s Kasalang Filipino is endorsed by the Department of Tourism.

No less than Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia will grace the ribbon cutting ceremony and formal opening of the wedding fair.
Numerous activities have been lined up for attending couples such as talks on wedding planning and wedding trends, and a talk and free demonstration on the latest in event styling by renowned flower and event stylist Henry Pascual. Visitors will be treated to a special electric MassKara presentation. Local florists will showcase their skills creativity during the bridal bouquet-making competition. Amateur and professional make up artist will showcase their skills at the Ever Bilena Gandang Pinay Bridal Make up competition. Lucky couples will get a chance to win free wedding giveaways and honeymoon packages during the bridal fair.

Kasalan sa Kagay-an Turned Cagayan de Oro To Northern Mindanao Wedding Capital


The eight leg of the Kasalang Filipino 2009 12-city wedding fair roadshow turned the Whitewater Rafting Capital of the country to the wedding capital of Northern Mindanao. Kasalan sa Kagay-an held last July 16 – 19, 2009 at the Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City showcased the products, services and unique wedding customs of Cagayan de Oro's local wedding suppliers.

No less than the Department of Tourism Region X Regional Director Catalino Cruz II graced the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Kasalan sa Kagay-an wedding fair and exhibit, co-presented by Kasal.com and ABS-CBN Regional Network Group in cooperation with Professional Organizers Unlimited Inc., and Limketkai Sons, Inc.

Aside from wedding displays of Northern Mindanao's premier wedding suppliers, numerous activites commenced throughout the four-day event. Pots and Pans owner and Sun Star contributor Chef Ed Dychauco gave a lecture-demonstration on how to prepare and decorate wedding cakes. Mr. ArieL Ansaldo of Ansaldo Photography talked about “Wedding Photography and Beyond”. On the other hand, Mr. Dustein Sibug of Team Oro, a Cagayan de Oro-based group of professional wedding photographers and videographers shared his knowledged about fashion and portrait photography. Forty four amateur and professional make up artists competed during the Ever Bilena Gandang Pinay Make up Competition. But the talented Jerry Udasco received the laurels and took home the grand prize of PhP. 20, 000.00 worth of Ever Bilena products, 1-year Gold Priority Listing advertising in Kasal.com worth PhP. 5, 000.00, and a trophy.

Kasalan sa Kagay-an was capped with the “Down the Aisle in Style” fashion show featuring the latest bridal and formal wear collection of Cagayan de Oro's premier couturiers such as John Mark Magallanes, Marlou Cabungacl of Aliah Margaret, Mark Yaranon, Benjie Manuel, Gil Macaibay, and Mimi Pimentel. All the couples who attended the event received free gift packs while lucky couples received special gift packs and gift certificates courtesy of the event sponsors.
